January 2006

Well- know Animal Rights and Earth First! activist Jonathan Paul, 39, was arrested on January 17 on charges that he helped firebomb a horsemeat packing plant in Redmond, Ore. Suzanne Savoie, 28, was similarly arrested and charged with serving as a lookout for the 2001 firebombing of the offices of a lumber mill in Glendale, Ore. Each of them faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The arrests appear to be linked to the 7th of December 2005 arrests of 6 people (which included Kevin Tubbs, Chelsea Gerlach, and Daniel McGowan.) Please send letters of support to Jonathan at the following address. Remember all letters will be read by the authorities. Please do not discuss any charges.

A support campaign has been set up for Suzanne Savoie. The group can be contacted by e-mailing friendsofsuzannesavoie@yahoo.com Suzanne's support campaign has suggested
that Suzanne is likely to be moved very soon, so it probably isn't worth
sending letters to Suzanne just yet as by the time the letters arrive she is
likely to have been moved. As soon as she has been transferred to her
new prison the address will be posted.

It has been revealed by authorities that in addition to all of the recent arrestees, there are a number of
other people they wish to indict in connection with their investigation into
radical animal rights and environmental actions which occurred in Oregon.

Darren Thurston, who is currently on remand accused of Green Card offences,
has been named as one of those they wish to indict.

Two others, Joseph Dibee and Rebecca Rubin, along with Josephine Overtake,
are also wanted under the indictment, but they are all believed to be living
outside of the USA at present, their exact whereabouts unknown.
