This is very difficult for us write about. Primarily because we are still unclear on all of the details and have been unable to verify much information. Nonetheless, it seems important to convey this to anyone who may be considering writing or supporting Kevin Tubbs. It appears that he has chosen to cooperate with the authorities by snitching on another prisoner. The information came to light during a court hearing for Daniel McGowen; an officer testified that he had a statement from Kevin Tubbs that offered some information about Daniel.
CAPS will not in any way support someone who chooses to cooperate with the authorities at someone else's expense. Nonetheless, we are still unclear on this situation and do not wish to make a definitive statement without thorough evidence to support it. At this time, we would simply suggest that people put their letter writing and support towards individuals whose positions on such matters are currently beyond question; and we will update you when any difinitive information about Kevin comes to light. This came as a surprise to us, as all previous correspondence with him led us to believe that he would not make such a decision.
